A Georgetown Councillor was early Wednesday morning stabbed to death as he reportedly tried to thwart a robbery attempt at his residence.
According to information received by Ignite News, Kyle Anthony Solomon, 47, of Durban Backlands Georgetown, was killed around 04:00 hrs.
Solomon reportedly had exited his home after hearing a noise outside and noticed someone trying to enter the shop he operated at his property.
He raised an alarm and the assailant darted from the scene.
Solomon gave chase and was able to catch up with the alleged thief with whom he reportedly had an argument. It was during this time the suspect reportedly whipped out a knife and dealt the city councillor several stabs about the body, including one to the chest. Solomon fell to the ground and the suspect made good his escape. It is alleged that the assailant of this crime is a 16-year -old school drop-out, who is still at large. The police are investigating the matter.
