Asif Mohamed Abrahim was on Friday sentenced to 48 months in prison for Trafficking in Persons and one month for assault for offences committed against a Venezuelan woman.
The offences reportedly between November 3, 2023, and January 18, 2024, at New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara, a police release said.
Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh handed down the sentence at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court. The sentences will run concurrently.
