Andrew Bhola, 25, of Lot 42 Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Berbice, was arrested and charged for rape committed on a 12-year-old female.
The charge was laid under Section 10(3) of the Sexual Offences Act, Chapter 8:03.
The accused appeared before Magistrate Michelle Matthias today at New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court where the indictable charge was read to him and he was not required to plea.
The accused was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to 10 March, 2025.
