PPP reaffirms pro-people approach to development

The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has reaffirmed its commitment to a pro-people approach to governance, with a strong emphasis on democracy, social justice, and economic development.

In a statement issued to mark Guyana’s 55th Republic Anniversary, the PPP emphasised its dedication to ensuring equality, inclusivity, and prosperity for all citizens, both at home and abroad.

Highlighting its commitment to democracy, the party underscored the importance of free and fair elections and the protection of human rights.

It reiterated its stance against authoritarianism while advocating for greater political participation and governance that prioritises the well-being of the people.

Economic growth, job creation, and the equitable distribution of national resources remain key tenets of the party’s agenda.

The PPP reflecting on Guyana’s progress since attaining republican status, acknowledged the nation’s resilience and unity.

It said the country’s development has been driven by a steadfast commitment to national sovereignty, democracy, and the rule of law.

The party also vowed to continue fostering ethnic, religious, and cultural harmony to strengthen Guyana’s national identity.

The statement also highlighted the government’s achievements, crediting the country’s ongoing transformation to visionary leadership and the implementation of policies that fulfil electoral promises.

The PPP pointed to the successful execution of its 2020 manifesto, noting significant progress under the leadership of President Dr Mohammed Irfaan Ali.

As Guyanese celebrate Mashramani, the PPP emphasised that the festival’s vibrancy symbolises the resilience, unity, and triumph of the nation.

It encouraged citizens to use the occasion to reflect on national achievements and renew their commitment to development.

The PPP also noted its resolute stance on defending Guyana’s territorial integrity and stressed its dedication to national security, diplomacy, and the rule of law in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty.

Looking ahead to Mashramani 2025, the party urged all Guyanese to embrace the spirit of unity and togetherness.

It expressed confidence in the nation’s future and asserted that through collective efforts, Guyana will continue to achieve new milestones and remain a beacon of hope, opportunity, and national pride for generations to come.
