Senior Superintendent Mahendra Singh has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner, leading the 2025 Guyana Police Force (GPF) promotions list, which was released on Wednesday.
Woman Superintendent Carol Fraser, who has also been promoted to Assistant Commissioner, is the sole female in the top tier of the list approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The GPF has announced the promotion of hundreds of ranks, effective from 5 January 2025, following its annual Police Officers’ Conference on Wednesday morning.
Six other ranks have been promoted to Assistant Commissioner, including Senior Superintendents Dion Moore, K. Mandall, Michael Kingston, S. Bacchus, Amit Das, and Raphael Rose.
Meanwhile, 14 ranks have been promoted to Senior Superintendent, 21 to Superintendent, and 19 to Deputy Superintendent; 56 to Assistant Superintendent; 37 to Assistant Superintendent on probation; six to Cadet Officer; 20 members of the Inspectorate to Chief Inspector, and 141 to Inspector.
Additionally, 82 subordinate officers and constables have been promoted to the rank of Sergeant, along with promotions to the ranks of Corporal and Lance Corporal.
This marks a significant milestone for promotions within the GPF, as no official promotions have been made since 2022.
