Shane Tyndall, 39, and Shabeca Gordon, 35, have died in a tragic accident that occurred early this morning on the Haags Bosch main access road at Eccles, East Bank Demerara.
According to a police report, the fatal incident occurred around 08:00 hrs when Tyndall, the driver of motorcar #PAJ 375, lost control of the vehicle. Tyndall and Gordon, both of whom are from Lot 609 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, were travelling east along the northern driving lane of Dump Site Road at a high rate of speed when the car collided with a concrete rail on the edge of the road.
Following the collision, the vehicle flipped several times and came to a halt in a trench on the northern side of the road, some 130 feet further east. Both occupants were pinned inside the wreckage for a period of time before being rescued by public-spirited citizens in an unconscious state.
The Ambulance Service responded quickly to the scene with a team of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), but tragically, both Tyndall and Gordon were pronounced dead at the scene.
The bodies have been transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where they await post-mortem examinations.
