Altezza has entered the local market, bringing a new perspective on the quality and standard of paint available in Guyana.

A renowned paint brand that utilises French technology, it has over 60 years of experience in 25 countries, with Guyana being the 26th country to feature its products.

With a portfolio of over 7,000 colours, the brand offers solutions for various applications, including wood, concrete, drywall, metal, roofs, floors, and waterproofing, among others.

Other paint and related products offered by Altezza include liquid rubber, liquid porcelain, and cool roof coatings.

According to Suresh Ramkissoon, the brand’s Commercial Director in Guyana, Altezza products are among the highest-quality paints, standing out for their exclusive and high-performance formulations, such as epoxy, PU, and natural stone coatings.

“Our product is a French technology, and this technology was developed for Airbus, nuclear facilities, and spaceships—applications that demand the highest quality, and we are the industry leaders… Altezza is rated among the top three brands of paint in the world. In the Caribbean region, we don’t have any paint that can compare with Altezza. So what we did was come to Guyana, collect paint samples from the local market, take them back to Brazil to our lab, test them, analyse them, and now we know the quality of the products available in Guyana,” Ramkissoon said.

The brand also offers an anti-fungal, anti-virus, and anti-bacterial line of paint and will soon launch a new line designed to terminate insects. This is in addition to a food-friendly line.

“We’re aligned with the people of GuySuCo right now, and they need a product for the broilers and evaporators that can withstand up to 120 degrees, and at the same time, it must be food-friendly,” Ramkissoon said in relation to the food-friendly line.

The cool roof paint, Ramkissoon explained, is designed to significantly reduce heat in high-temperature climates.

“Can you imagine that you can paint your roof with a product that will seal it completely? You can gain another 25 years of lifespan, and it reduces the temperature by 15 degrees. That’s a lot—you save on energy, and it lessens noise… so we’re giving you quality, we’re giving you comfort,” he said.

Altezza’s line of products is produced in Brazil with quality certifications.

Following thorough studies on Caribbean culture, the Demerara Tint brand was developed specifically for the Caribbean, especially for Guyana.

“We used the name Demerara as a sign of respect and affection for the region and the country,” Ramkissoon said, noting that the product line has received positive feedback from the Guyanese market.

The Altezza company is located on High Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown.
