Holi (Phagwah) celebrations remind us of the spirit of happiness, love, compassion, and spreading joy.
The West Meten-Meer-Zorg Dekindern Shri Krishna Mandir recently embraced this spirit by hosting its annual Kids’ Holi Party, bringing joy to children in the community.
The event, aimed at creating a fun and memorable experience for the children, featured activities such as water balloon fights, musical chairs, and interactive games, allowing the kids to celebrate Holi with one another.
Children were also treated to pichkaris (water guns), coloured powder, ice cream, goodie bags, and other treats. This event was organised by members of the temple and funded through donations.
Local non-governmental organisation (NGO) Young Pioneers (YP) partnered with the mandir’s team to donate Indian clothing, toys, and other children’s items to those in attendance.
YP members Seeram Nanadall and Viraj Dudhnauth, who participated in the event, described it as a much-needed initiative that brought joy to the faces of little ones in a beautiful way.
Founded in 2013 by Shivanie Rampersaud, Young Pioneers (YP) is an NGO that focuses on child development, education, domestic violence awareness, humanitarian work, and other social causes.
