An invitation has been extended to fashion designers and models to participate in the inaugural Origins Guyana Fashion Festival, scheduled for 2–4 May at the historic Railway Courtyard in Georgetown.
The Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce has also officially invited creatives to apply for this landmark three-day fashion event, which celebrates innovation, heritage, and the future of fashion in Guyana.
According to a release, the festival will provide both emerging and established talents with a high-profile platform to showcase their work on national and global stages.
In addition to creative runway shows, the ministry stated that the festival will feature capacity-building workshops on topics such as AI and the Future of Creativity: Transforming Fashion, Art, and Design in Guyana, Textile Identification, and Model Coaching.
A series of panel discussions will also be organised, covering topics such as Breaking Barriers: Overcoming Challenges in Guyana’s Creative Industry, Sustainability and the Future of Caribbean Fashion, and Fashion as a Driver of Economic Growth. These sessions aim to foster both local and international collaborations, equipping Guyanese creatives with the training, exposure and opportunities necessary for success.
The event will provide designers with a platform to showcase their creative vision and is expected to attract international buyers, influencers and media, spotlighting Guyana’s rich creative talent on the world stage.
