The Guyana Police Force has confirmed that its investigation into the death of Adriana Younge is ongoing, with a series of interviews being conducted as detectives work to uncover the circumstances surrounding her passing.

According to a release from the Office of the Commissioner of Police, several individuals have already been questioned, including the proprietor of the Double Day Hotel and Bar—where Younge was last seen—as well as employees of the establishment. Investigators have also interviewed a security guard stationed at the hotel and a swimming instructor who is believed to have relevant information.

In addition, several police officers from Regional Division #3 have been questioned as part of the widening probe.

Police noted that interviews are continuing with other individuals who may be able to assist in shedding light on the incident.

Meanwhile, the Force is awaiting the arrival of an independent pathologist, selected by Younge’s family, to conduct a post-mortem examination. This examination is expected to be a critical component in determining the cause of her death.

In a related development, an administrative shake-up has seen Assistant Commissioner Khalid Mandall reassigned from Regional Division #3 to Regional Division #4B. He has been replaced by Assistant Commissioner Mahindra Siewnarine, who will now serve as Commander of Regional Division #3.

The Guyana Police Force has pledged to keep the public informed as the investigation progresses.
