Over 300 job seekers gathered today as a new call centre officially opened its doors in No. 75 Village, creating much-needed employment opportunities and further strengthening Guyana’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector.
The launch event and accompanying job fair marked a major step forward for regional development, drawing strong support from government officials and investment partners.
The facility, operated by Centerville, is expected to provide jobs for dozens of residents in Region Six, particularly youth and first-time workers.
Senior Minister in the Office of the President with Responsibility for Finance and Public Service, Dr. Ashni Singh, delivered the feature address, praising Centerville’s investment and the confidence it reflects in the Guyanese workforce.
He stressed the importance of professionalism, ongoing training, and career growth, noting that the centre offers access to international clients and opportunities for advancement.
The initiative is supported by the Guyana Office for Investment, whose Senior Director of Investment, John Edghill, and Regional Vice Chairman Zamal Hussain were also in attendance.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to fostering projects that promote inclusive and sustainable economic development across the country.
