Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn has announced that the national situation is stabilising and that normal business activities are expected to resume across the country starting tomorrow.

Benn in a statement said the Joint Services—including the Guyana Police Force, Guyana Fire Service, Guyana Defence Force, and other supporting agencies—remain actively engaged to ensure the continued safety of all citizens.
He confirmed that several individuals have been arrested and that reports are being prepared for further action. The authorities are prepared to respond swiftly to any additional roadblocks or criminal acts.

“The situation across the country is stable, with the exception of an isolated area along the Mabura trail to Linden,” the minister said, noting that efforts are underway to resolve the issue without impacting the broader return to normalcy.

While there is no formal change to the existing Public (Safety) Order 2025, Minister Benn is advising all citizens to stay indoors between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM. This precaution, he said, will assist security forces in responding effectively to any emerging issues and maintaining public safety.

“These precautions are part of the ministry’s efforts to maintain a high level of security across the nation, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents. Citizens are thanked for their cooperation and patience during this period,” the statement concluded.
