Ijaaz Arjune, a 23-year-old businessman from Unity, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, was shot early Wednesday morning during an altercation at Perseverance Village, Mahaicony.
The incident occurred around 01:45 hrs on April 30, 2025, when Arjune reportedly got into a confrontation with two men in a black motorcar. He was rushed to the Mahaicony Public Hospital for treatment and later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
Police recovered a .32 pistol with nine matching rounds at the scene. Two suspects, aged 24 and 27, are in custody assisting with the investigation.
