Akesi Primo, also known as ‘Max,’ a 25-year-old Guyanese male of African descent from Lot 229 Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, has been arrested and charged with the offence of murder, contrary to common law.
The charge relates to the death of Derreck Sylvester Prostea, a 48-year-old Guyanese male of Indian descent from Grove, East Bank Demerara.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, 7 May 2025, at Grove Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
Primo, known as ‘Max,’ appeared at the Diamond Magistrates’ Court #2, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge and was remanded in custody.
The matter has been adjourned to 9 June 2025.
