Romel Bollers, a 33-year-old shopkeeper of Lot 120 Brutus Street, Agricola, East Bank Demerara, was fatally shot on Monday morning in Titus Street, Agricola.
The incident occurred around 08:30 hrs on June 30, 2025. According to police in Regional Division 4A, Bollers had left his home at about 08:15 hrs to feed pigs at Lot 166 Titus Street when he was attacked.
His sister told investigators that shortly after he left, she overheard people in the area saying he had been shot. She rushed to the location and found him lying motionless on his back in front of a pig pen, bleeding from injuries to his abdomen and back.
An ambulance from the Eccles Fire Station transported Bollers to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said the body bore gunshot wounds to the right shoulder, abdomen, and right elbow. It has been taken to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where a post-mortem examination is pending.
The scene was processed by ranks from CID Headquarters. One 9mm spent shell was recovered.
Investigations are ongoing.
