The mining town of Linden in Region 10 has become “better and stronger” in just five years under the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) government, Dr Shurdon Murray, a candidate for the ruling party, told a packed rally on Sunday.
Addressing supporters at the Lieu-Ken-Pen Square in Wismar, Murray credited President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali’s leadership for what he described as a significant transformation across multiple sectors.
“President Ali has built bridges of policies and progress, and he has a heart for Linden and all its communities,” Dr Murray said to those in attendance and viewing the rally online.
In the past five years, roads have opened up to places of worship, investments have been made in religious and cultural life, and communities such as West Watooka and Ituni have been connected with long-lasting infrastructure.
“As a young man, I proudly endorse another young, vibrant, energetic leader like myself, Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali,” Murray declared, adding: “That is leadership. That is vision.”
Murray urged Lindeners to turn out and vote on September 1 to continue the PPP/C’s development agenda.
