The Forward Guyana Movement (FGM) today launched its official manifesto ahead of the 2025 General and Regional Elections, titled Contract With the People.
The launch was held in the Brandsville Conference Room, as Guyana gets closer to General and Regional Elections on September 1.
The 40-page document touches from education and healthcare to energy, immigration, constitutional reform, and digital transformation.
FGM also proposes participatory budgeting at the community level, citizen-led civic audits of government services, independent evaluations of elected officials, real-time publication of government contracts and spending, and a full reboot of the State Asset Recovery Agency as an independent body.
It further calls for a complete rethink of power-sharing, starting with constitutional reform to end the winner-takes-all political model and guarantee real representation for minorities, independents, and women — even as it warns against unsustainable promises.
“We ask for your vote, not for power but for purpose,” the manifesto concluded.
