Guyana’s motor racing veteran Mark Vieira will debut his new Porsche GT3 at the Caribbean Clash of Champions on November 2 at the South Dakota Circuit.
Vieira, who for more than a decade thrilled fans in his 20B rotary-powered Mazda RX-8, said the GT3 marks his fifth race car and by far the most expensive and ambitious. The move comes as rivals across the region continue to upgrade.
The Porsche, currently en route from Europe, is eagerly anticipated, with testing to begin in Guyana once it arrives. Vieira will work with his team of Porsche GT3 engineers to fine-tune it for competition.
He will set his sights on challenging the Group 4 lap record set by Vishok Persaud’s KTM, a benchmark that will test the GT3’s speed and reliability.
Fans can anticipate what Vieira calls an electrifying race day. The suspense, he says, lies in who, if anyone, will stop Mark Vieira and his Porsche GT3 on November 2nd?
The Caribbean Clash of Champions will be elevated with Vieira behind the wheel, organisers added.
