Norvin Oneil, a 20-year-old fisherman of Westbury, Essequibo, was charged with the offence of Rape of a Child Under the Age of 16 Years, allegedly committed against a Guyanese female of mixed ancestry between March 1, 2024, and May 21, 2024.
On September 23, 2025, the case was heard at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir.
The charge was read to the accused, and he was not required to enter a plea. The Prosecutor objected to bail. However, the Magistrate granted bail in the sum of $500,000, on the condition that the accused report to the Charity Police Station every other Friday of the month and have no contact with the victim pending trial.
