Police on Thursday intercepted a shipment containing eight pounds of cannabis at a shipping company in Georgetown.
Detectives, acting on intelligence, conducted a search at BAC Couriers on D’Urban Street around 16:30 hrs. A brown cardboard box, reportedly shipped by Shamar Fraser from Florida to Shequan Simon of Lamaha Park, Georgetown, was examined.
Inside the box, officers found an orange suitcase that contained eight compressed parcels of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The suspected narcotics were taken to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters, where they were processed, photographed, and weighed.
Investigations are continuing.
