The Honourable Minister of Labour and Manpower Planning, Keoma D. Griffith, engaged in bilateral discussions with the Honourable Minister of Labour of El Salvador, Rolando Castro, on the sidelines of the International Labour Organization’s 20th American Regional Meeting.
The talks focused on strengthening labour cooperation between the two countries. Both Ministers committed to pursuing further formalised discussions on the way forward.
Minister Griffith is currently in Punta Cana leading Guyana’s delegation to the ILO’s American Regional Meeting, which runs from October 1 to 3, 2025. The delegation includes Presidential Advisor Joseph Hamilton, Legal Officer Aleya Williams, and other officials.
The meeting brings together labour ministers, senior officials, and representatives of workers’ and employers’ organizations from across the Americas to review progress on labour issues, exchange best practices, and set priorities in areas such as job creation, social protection, democratic governance, climate-resilient transitions, and the future of work.
