Minister Croal urges newly elected Region One Councillors to serve with integrity and dedication

Fifteen newly elected councillors of Barima-Waini (Region One) officially took the Oath of Office during a swearing-in ceremony attended by Minister of Housing and Water, Hon. Collin Croal.

During the event, Mr. Brentnol Ashley was re-elected as Regional Chairman, while Mr. Paul Pierre—who previously served as both Regional Chairman and Vice-Chairman—was elected once again to serve as Regional Vice-Chairman, Outgoing Vice-Chairperson, Ms. Annansha Peters, remains a councillor on the Regional Democratic Council (RDC).

In his feature remarks, Minister Croal reminded the newly sworn-in officials that their foremost duty is to serve the people of Guyana with dedication, integrity, and accountability. He emphasized that holding public office is not merely a position of authority but a sacred responsibility to act in the best interest of citizens.

The Minister also encouraged the councillors to ensure that their decisions and actions positively impact their communities and contribute to the overall advancement and development of the Region.

The ceremony marked the beginning of a new term for the Region One RDC, as officials pledged to work collaboratively toward sustainable growth and improved public service delivery for residents.
