Guyana’s pavilion at Expo Japan 2025 welcomed 4,642,000 visitors over the six-month event, showcasing the country’s natural beauty, culture, and commitment to sustainable development.

The Expo, held from April 13 to October 13 under the theme “Sustainability through Innovation – Guyana’s Low Carbon Journey,” attracted 158 countries and seven international organisations, with more than 25 million attendees overall. Guyana’s 53-square-metre pavilion featured lifelike rainforest scenery, movable animals with sound effects, an intricate Silica City model, and other exhibits highlighting its green and innovative future. An additional 17-square-metre space displayed locally manufactured products.

On 27 April, Guyana celebrated its National Day, presenting cultural performances representing the nation’s six ethnic groups. The showcase, curated by Andrew Tyndall and Alana Seebaran from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, highlighted Guyana’s music, dance, and artistry to an international audience.

The delegation was led by former Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Oneidge Walrond and Guyana Tourism Authority Director Kamrul Baksh. Branded souvenirs were distributed to visitors from around the world.
