Police have arrested one person in connection with an early-morning fire at the Suddie Public Hospital today.
According to reports, the fire started around 03:30 hrs under a shed near the hospital’s boardroom. It was quickly contained by on-site security and later fully extinguished by the Guyana Fire Service. Two wheelchairs and packaging materials valued at approximately $120,000 were destroyed.
No injuries were reported, and hospital operations were not affected.
Ranks from the Suddie Police Station processed the scene, and one person remains in police custody assisting with the ongoing investigation.
