Teen labourer murdered at Loo Creek

Gaurav Bhagwan, a 17-year-old labourer from Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara, was killed on Saturday evening at Loo Creek, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

He was part of a road and drainage project when colleagues reportedly heard a loud scream and found him lying motionless with apparent stab wounds.

A 36-year-old labourer from La Belle Alliance, Essequibo Coast, has been taken into custody and is assisting police with the investigation.

Bhagwan was pronounced dead on arrival at Diamond Regional Hospital, where his body remains pending a post-mortem. Investigations are ongoing.
