Young miner shot dead at Issano Landing

The Guyana Police Force has launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Samuel Marciano, a miner from One Mile, Wismar, Linden.

The incident occurred around 01:00 hrs on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at a shop located at 14 Miles, Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni, during a social gathering.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Marciano was reportedly shot multiple times by two known individuals. Upon arrival, police ranks discovered the victim’s body with several gunshot wounds. Several spent shells and a live round were recovered at the scene.

The body was transported to McKenzie Hospital, where Marciano was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty. It remains at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Police say investigators are actively pursuing leads to locate the two suspects and are appealing to anyone with information to contact 911 or the nearest police station.
