The Caribbean Mega Bounce will open this Friday at the YMCA Grounds in Thomas Lands, giving families in Georgetown a chance to enjoy a wide variety of rides and games.

Weekday hours on Friday and Monday are 3 pm to 10 pm, with extended weekend hours from 11 am to 10 pm. The fun will conclude on November 10.

Weekes and Beepat speak to the media

Jonathan Beepat, one of the event managers, spoke about the setup of the park and the Jamaican team behind it. “As you can see Caribbean Mega Bounce is here, you know, we’ve finally got the park ready to go this week. Our team from Jamaica are in the country, the technical team that is, and as you can see it’s kind of a little technical aspect to set up this park. We have the rides already laid out and we’re expecting good weather,” he said.

Beepat also shared the inspiration behind the event. “They found the idea when they traveled the Caribbean and they realised, you know, there’s not much to do in the Caribbean for children and families. They came together to invest into this theme park, a traveling touring theme park, and decided to make it a mega traveling theme park,” he stated.

Dominic Weekes, the other event manager, explained ticket pricing and re-entry policies. “Tickets are $4,000 for children, $5,000 for adults. There’s the family bundle that costs $16,000 and includes two children tickets, two adult tickets. With your ticket purchase and admission, you are allowed access to all of the rides. You can come, you can bounce for however long you want, you can leave, go home, recharge, and you can come back for another session within that day,” he said.

Weekes also highlighted visitor amenities and safety measures. “We’re going to have quite a few vendors available on site, a cool-down area where parents can relax while their children play, and three dozen ushers to ensure safety measures are being followed,” he added.

Organisers confirmed that three dozen ushers will be on-site to ensure safety measures are followed and said the event will be packed with rides, games, and activities, promising a weekend full of fun for the whole family.
