The Ministry of Education has announced an expansion of its support across the regions, with a targeted intervention currently underway in Region 7. Sir Leon Beaton is leading the engagement, meeting with Grade 11 students and Mathematics teachers at Three Miles Secondary and Bartica Secondary schools.
The objective of these sessions is focused and specific: strengthening the quality of School Based Assessment (SBA) submissions and enhancing the delivery of Mathematics content in classrooms.
These initiatives are a core component of the Ministry’s wider National Mathematics Intervention.
This programme is “designed to boost Guyana’s overall performance at the CXC’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Mathematics examination and ensure every learner has the support they need to succeed.”
The Ministry emphasized its commitment to regional development, concluding its statement with the motivational message: “Investing in our regions, investing in our students!”
