Beginning January 2026, Guyana will implement fixed processing timelines for local content certification applications, the Ministry of Natural Resources said on Monday, outlining new deadlines aimed at improving efficiency and predictability.
Under the revised framework, sole proprietorships and landlords will have new applications processed within five working days and renewals within three.
Fully Guyanese-owned companies and partnerships will see 15 working days for new applications and 10 for renewals, while all other companies will face timelines of 21 working days and 15 working days respectively.
The Local Content Secretariat said the timelines will start only after all required documents are submitted. An updated list of required documents will be posted on the petroleum.gov.gy website.
The ministry also encouraged stakeholders to use the Local Content App, launched in February, and said an online portal allowing digital submission of applications will be introduced in January 2026.
