A police sergeant attached to Brickdam Impact Base is hospitalised with a suspected fractured left leg and other injuries following an accident today on Lamaha Street, Tucville, Georgetown.
The sergeant was thrown from an on-duty Force ATV after a head-on collision with a motor lorry driven by a Cuban national.
The lorry allegedly swerved into the ATV’s path. The Sergeant was initially taken to the Guyana Fire Service Headquarters before being admitted to Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
The lorry driver is in custody and investigations are ongoing.
