WeLead confers Outstanding Woman of Excellence Award on Shoshanna Lall

Deputy Solicitor General Shoshanna V. Lall was awarded the WeLead Outstanding Woman of Excellence Award, the organisation’s highest honour, at the Second Annual WeLead Women Who Lead Gala and Women in Business Awards held on Saturday at the Jaigobin Hotel in Anna Regina.

The award recognises women whose leadership, public service and national impact set them apart as role models for women and girls across the country. Lall was selected for her career in law, governance and public service, including contributions to human rights, public policy and national development.

WeLead said Lall’s work on national bodies, particularly in child protection and governance frameworks, reflects a commitment to justice, integrity and nation-building. Her leadership, the association noted, continues to inspire women to pursue leadership roles with purpose.

The awards ceremony forms part of WeLead Association’s efforts to promote women’s leadership, entrepreneurship and community development, with a focus on recognising excellence and encouraging future generations of women leaders.

Several women from Region Two were also honoured. Falisha Hakh, founder of Body Haven, received Businesswoman of the Year for business growth and support for female entrepreneurship, while Savina Sukhnandan, founder of Lily’s Organics, won the Leadership Award for community impact.

Michellina Richmond of Centaur Holdings received the Excellence in Innovation and Technology Award, Rosamund Benn of Pomeroon Rose Products was honoured with the Excellence in Agroprocessing Award, and Aissa Dass was named Junior Entrepreneur of the Year.

The President’s Award went to Munirah Reedon and Esther Riedrkou for professional achievement and service to the business community.

WeLead said awardees were selected through an independent judging process, underscoring its commitment to transpa rency and merit.
