U.S. President Donald Trump is holding discussions with Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, on the administration of the country, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said.
Speaking to Fox News, Noem described the talks as “very matter-of-fact and very clear,” adding that U.S. policy would not tolerate actions she said undermined American influence.
“You can lead or you can get out of the way,” Noem said. “We’re not going to allow you to continue to subvert our American influence.”
Asked whether Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro could be extradited following his trial, Noem said it was too early to say, adding that the process should be allowed to proceed. (BBC News)
