Four men, including one Hispanic national, were arrested on Sunday after officers from Guyana’s Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) seized 70 kilograms (154 pounds) of cocaine during an operation in Parika, East Bank Essequibo, CANU said.
The arrests followed an intelligence-led operation conducted in the area on January 18. The suspects were taken to CANU headquarters along with the seized narcotics.
Investigations are ongoing.
