Police are investigating the discovery of the body of an unidentified woman found floating in a trench in Georgetown on Sunday, authorities said.
The body, believed to be that of a woman aged between 40 and 50, was discovered face down at about 10:00 hrs in a trench between Barbie Dam and Lamaha Springs. Police said several marks were visible on the body.
Emergency medical technicians removed the body from the trench, and a doctor at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation pronounced the woman dead.

Police said several people were questioned as investigations continue.
