Top leaders of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Lt. Col. (ret’d) Egbert Field and Dr. Saheed Sulaman, have been appointed to serve on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Global Ambassadors Programme.
Field will serve as ICAO Champion for the South American Region, while Sulaman has been named ICAO Global Ambassador for Guyana.
Both appointments are for two years and began on January 1. Field, GCAA Director General, brings over 50 years of military and civil aviation experience and has strengthened the authority’s institutions and international credibility. As ICAO Champion, he will engage in high-level forums, policy debates, and discussions with government and industry leaders.
Sulaman, GCAA Deputy Director General, with 19 years at the authority and a Ph.D. in Management, will focus on developing emerging aviation talent and advancing strategic initiatives.Officials said the appointments underscore Guyana’s growing influence in international aviation.
