A man was killed and two others injured in a shooting on Thursday evening in Albouystown, Georgetown, police said.
Kevon Ridley, known as “Author,” a 28-year-old labourer, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
A 30-year-old male vendor of Albouystown was shot in the back and is receiving treatment at the same hospital, while a 43-year-old spray painter from Lust-en-Rust, West Bank Demerara, was shot in the shoulder and is being treated at a private medical facility. Both are in stable condition.
Preliminary investigations indicate an unidentified male allegedly fired several rounds in the area. No arrests have been made. Police continue to investigate the circumstances.
