U.S. Special Envoy Kristi Noem will visit Guyana on Tuesday to reinforce bilateral cooperation and regional security priorities, the U.S. government said.
Noem is expected to meet with President Irfaan Ali and senior civilian and defence officials to discuss efforts to combat transnational crime, including drug trafficking, firearms smuggling and illegal migration, as well as broader regional stability.
She will also hold talks with U.S. energy companies operating in the country.
Noem was appointed at the Shield of the Americas Summit in Doral, Miami-Dade, to coordinate security efforts among 12 countries, including Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago.
