Hemat Kumar Mohamed, 44, of De Groot-Enkline, Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara, was discovered suspended from a window grill by an item of clothing between 10:45hrs and 11:24hrs on Saturday. He had been taken into custody in connection with the alleged murder of Shavannie Hanoman, 46, of the same community.
Mohamed was escorted to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, where a doctor on duty pronounced him dead on arrival.
Investigations are ongoing.
