Origins Fashion Festival wraps up 60th Independence-themed showcase

Origins, Fashion Festival 2026 came to a close at the Railway Courtyard last evening, with some 30 designers showcasing their creativity following three immersive days of cultural display and fashion.

The premier fashion event was held under the theme A Diamond Legacy: Fashioning 60 Years, in recognition of Guyana’s 60th Independence, bringing together local and diaspora talent under a three-part runway experience entitled Golden Threads of Time, Ancestral Threads and Fashion Meets Innovation.

Participants also engaged in panel discussions addressing ways to advance the music industry, financing for the creative sector, and the expansion of the relatively new Origins Festival.

The event concluded with the Origins Awards, highlighting the Best Fashion Designer, Best Emerging Designer, and Male/Female Models of the Year.

Origins 2027 is set for 2-4 July.
