Assistant Commissioner of Police Khalid Mandall remains on administrative leave, the Guyana Police Force confirmed on Friday.
Mandall was initially reassigned from his position as Commander of Regional Division Three to Regional Division Four B, following his handling of the Adrianna Younge matter.
However, in response to public outcry and scrutiny over the case, he was subsequently placed on leave to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
Adrianna was reported missing on April 23 and was found dead the following day in a pool at the Double Day Hotel and Bar. A search of the pool during the time she was missing had yielded no results. Her death sparked public unrest and led to widespread calls for a thorough investigation into the matter.
