Renowned British-Guyanese actor and musician Ram John Holder paid a courtesy call to President Dr Irfaan Ali on Wednesday.
Holder, best known for his iconic role as Augustus Neapolitan Cleveland “Porkpie” Grant in the beloved British sitcom “Desmond’s”, captivated audiences from 1989 to 1994.
His performance led to a successful spin-off series, “Porkpie”, further cementing his place in television history.
During the visit with the Head of State, Holder received warm commendations for his outstanding contributions to the global arts.
Now 91 years old, he continues to be celebrated as a cultural icon and a proud representative of Guyanese talent.
During the meeting, he was also congratulated by President Dr Ali for his decades-long artistic legacy, and the inspiration which he continues to provide to both Guyana and the diaspora.
