Archery Guyana has announced its participation in the Recurve Men’s Category at the upcoming Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay, scheduled for August 9 to 23.
The national federation accepted the slot allocated by World Archery Americas, marking a historic milestone for Guyana with its first-ever participation in the Junior Pan American Games for archery.
Lucas Chung will be the lone athlete representing Guyana in archery and will attend the Games alongside Assistant National Coach, Jeewanram Persaud.
The team is currently undergoing rigorous training under the guidance of Archery Guyana President, Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon. Guyana’s participation represents a proud moment for the young association.
The federation also expressed its gratitude to World Archery Americas and the Executive Committee of the Guyana Olympic Association for their support in making this opportunity possible. They are encouraging everyone to rally behind Lucas as he proudly represents Guyana on the international stage in Paraguay.
