Bradley Sampson popularly known as “Dirty Doggie”, was on Friday charged with six offences, including unlawful wounding and illegal firearm possession, following an alleged assault on a woman.
The 36-year-old from Lodge, Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty and pleaded not guilty to all charges. He was granted $260,000 bail despite objections from the prosecution.
The incident involved Genista Fordyce, a sales representative from McDoom, East Bank Demerara, who claimed she was hired by Sampson to perform tasks for the WIN party on Nominations Day for $50,000.
On July 15, she went to collect her payment but received only $10,000. An argument reportedly broke out at the Square of the Revolution, during which Sampson allegedly kicked, punched, and struck her with a firearm. The assault was captured on video and circulated on social media.
Police say Fordyce was later offered $500,000 by US-sanctioned Azruddin Mohamed to drop the case. As a result, Mohamed was sought by police on the accusation of obstructing the course of justice. He turned himself in, was released. The case continues on August 15.
