Rodrigues, Mackintosh granted bail over viral weekend confrontation

Social media commentator Mikhail Rodrigues, widely known as “Guyanese Critic,” was on Monday granted $100,000 bail when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court in connection with a weekend altercation involving Bryan Mackintosh.

Mackintosh, called “Bryan Max,” who also appeared in court, was released on $45,000 bail over the same confrontation, which was widely circulated on social media.

Rodrigues, 45, pleaded not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Mackintosh.

Mackintosh faced three charges: using abusive language towards OC Rogers and provoking both Rodrigues and Rogers with intent to insult or annoy them.

The incident occurred on 23 August at the Critic Studio on Laluni Street, Georgetown. Mackintosh denied the allegations.

The matters were adjourned to 15 September.
