The Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) has announced significant financial support of $1,100,000 for the national bodybuilding team as they prepare for the 52nd Central American & Caribbean Bodybuilding and Body Fitness Championships in St Lucia, scheduled for 24 to 28 September. A nine-member team will represent Guyana at the event.
GOA President Godfrey Munroe presented the sponsorship cheque to Roger Callender, President of the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GBBFF), at Olympic House in Liliendaal. The funding is intended to ensure the team’s successful participation as they compete against top regional bodybuilders.
Last year, Guyana hosted the 51st Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Bodybuilding Championships, where they secured an impressive 27 medals, including 11 golds, nine silvers, and seven bronzes. Emmerson Campbell also earned an International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) pro card in the Men’s Physique category, marking a highlight of the event.
