Mobile Money Guyana (MMG) said on Thursday it will launch a major digital upgrade on October 6, 2025, promising stronger security, simpler transactions, and new features for users.
The upgrade will introduce self-service options including password resets, account unlocking, and trusted device management. It also adds advanced encryption and safeguards to protect user data, more reliable bill settlements, enhanced dashboards and payment management tools for merchants, and in-app coaching to guide users through features and common transactions, a release said.
Chief Executive Officer Mark Singh said the move reflects MMG’s push to modernise its services.
“This upgrade represents a new chapter for MMG. We are investing in stronger safeguards, smarter tools, and easier-to-use features that give our users more control and confidence when managing their money,” he said.
To prepare for the transition, MMG said all services, including its current app, will be unavailable on October 4 and 5. Users are strongly advised to complete transactions in advance to avoid disruption.
“This temporary disruption is necessary to complete the system upgrade and to ensure a smooth transition to the new experience. Over the next few weeks, we will continue to share updates about everything users need to know about the upcoming changes and benefits,” Singh added.
MMG said customers can contact the company via email at mmgcommunication@mmg.gy, and stay updated through its website (www.mmg.gy) and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
