The Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) has shortlisted eight athletes for the under-20 Pan American Games, scheduled to be held in Colombia from October 3 to 5.
Leading the team is Guyana’s sprint sensation, Tiana Springer, who will compete in the girls’ 400 metres.
Skylar Charles could be the team’s only double participant, taking part in both the boys’ 100 and 200 metres.
Rodel Greene is expected to be the sole field event representative, competing in the boys’ triple jump, while seasoned campaigner Javon Roberts will run in the boys’ 800 metres.
Other athletes shortlisted include Tishawn Easton (boys’ 200m), Onesi Dunn (boys’ 100m), and Kaidon Persaud (boys’ 800m).
The final team is expected to be confirmed following the conclusion of the World Athletics Championships, which begin today. Guyana will be represented there by Emanual Archibald in the men’s long jump.
