The Lusignan Golf Club (LGC) has reaffirmed its confidence in Anasha Ally, re-electing her as President during its Annual General Meeting and elections held on Sunday.
Ally, who created history last year by becoming the club’s first female leader, was returned to office unopposed and will now serve a second consecutive term.
In her address to members following the election, Ally expressed gratitude for their continued support. She reflected on her first year of leadership, noting both the achievements and challenges faced, while outlining her vision for the year ahead. Among the pressing issues she highlighted were drainage, pest control, and overall course maintenance.
Looking to the future, Ally said her focus will be on expanding the club’s membership, with a special emphasis on encouraging more women and young people to get involved in the sport. She also underscored the importance of strengthening community engagement as part of the club’s growth strategy.
Ally’s re-election marks an important chapter for the Lusignan Golf Club as it works to cement its standing in Guyana’s sporting landscape.
The newly elected executive committee comprises: Vice President Troy Cadogan, Club Captain Ayube Subhan, Secretary Chet Bowling, Treasurer Aasroodeen Shaw, Assistant Secretary-Treasurer Joseph Szeplaki, Public Relations Officer Dr. Joaan Deo, and Grounds Superintendent Brian Hackett.
