The Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) has officially launched its 2026 scholarship intake, providing thousands of Guyanese with the chance to pursue fully funded higher education and skills training programmes.
The first phase of applications runs from October 1 to October 31, 2025, targeting vocational and certificate programmes as well as the Get Ready for Opportunities to Work (GROW) initiative. Over 100 short, skills-based programmes are available through GOAL’s partner institutions, and no prior formal education is required to apply.
The GROW initiative offers three pathways: the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF Level 6), the Bachelor’s Foundation Programme (BFP), and the US High School Diploma. All are designed to prepare participants for entry into Bachelor’s degree programmes.
Applicants can submit their forms online at https://govofguyana.smapply.io
.
Applications for Bachelor’s degree programmes will open from November 1 to December 31, 2025, while postgraduate programmes will accept applications from December 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
GOAL has adopted a phased rollout this year to improve application management and provide applicants with clear guidance throughout the process. The approach aims to ensure that every eligible Guyanese has an equal opportunity to complete their applications successfully.
Since its establishment in 2021, GOAL has awarded over 39,000 scholarships across certificate, diploma, Bachelor’s, postgraduate, Master’s, and PhD programmes, reinforcing its commitment to expanding access to higher education and building the nation’s human capacity.
