The Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association (GRPA) is celebrating 50 years of service as a registered non-governmental organization (NGO), marking a major milestone in its ongoing work to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights across the country.

In recognition of the golden anniversary, President of the GRPA, Ramsay Ali, reflected on the organization’s journey and the significant impact it has made over the decades.

“As we commemorate 50 years of the Guyana Responsible Parenthood Association as a registered NGO, I am deeply honoured to reflect on the journey of this organization,” Ali stated.

He noted that since its establishment, GRPA has remained at the forefront of providing lifesaving services and empowering generations of Guyanese to make informed decisions about their health and futures.

“Since its founding, GRPA has been at the forefront of promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights, providing lifesaving services, and empowering generations of Guyanese to make informed choices about their health and futures,” Ali said.

The GRPA President credited the organization’s success to the dedication of its staff, volunteers, partners, and the communities that have supported its mission over the years.

“This golden milestone is a testament to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, partners, and the communities who have walked alongside us over the years. It also reminds us of the vision of our founders, whose courage and commitment laid the foundation for the work we proudly continue today.”

Looking ahead, Ali emphasized that GRPA remains focused on innovation, equity, and expanding access to care for all Guyanese.

“As we look to the future, GRPA remains committed to innovation, equity, and building partnerships that strengthen access to care for all. Together, we will continue evolving to meet the needs of our people and create healthier, more empowered communities across Guyana.”

Over the past five decades, GRPA has established itself as a key partner in national development, advocating for reproductive rights, providing healthcare services, and fostering awareness to build healthier and more resilient communities.
